Shiftless Shuffle Dance floor Jazz class and club

On Sunday 16th September, we are proud to present the return of UK Fusion Aficionado Eric X to the Shiftless Shuffle hallowed decks.

Eric X has DJd at every major ‘legendary’ Jazz Dance session in living history – from the famous Birmingham Powerhouse All-Dayers via the Electric Ballroom in Camden, the Wag in Soho and Rock City in Nottingham. Known for his large collection of Fusion Jazz, Eric’s aim is to get a Dancefloor moving and keeping it there non-stop.

Joining Eric behind the decks is no other than DJ Nick Hosier who needs no introduction. As a regular Shiftless Shuffle DJ, Nick is best known for his Wednesday evening Jazz Workshop on Stomp Radio as well as his now fabled sessions at the Spot in Covent Garden. These two will make a unique paring of knowledge and quality music for the dance floor so you definitely don’t want to miss this session!

Shiftless Shuffle is a unique Jazz Dance session that combines a 1 hour class in the specialist Street-Fusion Jazz Dance style with a 5 hour club session that follows the class. The class is open to novices and experienced Dancers alike and will be tailored to all needs on the day, providing the opportunity to learn the rhythmical, intricate footwork and so-called drop moves that are iconic and exclusive to this style. Teaching is da Boss Perry Louis, creative Director of The JazzCotech Dancers, who have danced with all the greats from Incognito to James Brown and Roy Ayers.

The ensuing club session has people flocking to it from all corners of the UK. Billed as “the coolest thing to do in London on a Sunday” by Time Out, Shiftless Shuffle is the place to hang out, be seen and be inspired to strut your stuff to some incredible music, or simply kick back with a drink and enjoy watching the many Dancers do their thing.
