Bushmills® Irish Whiskey, the pioneers of Irish single malt, from the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, are sharing finely crafted poetry composed by George the Poet – the voice of his generation – across their social media and at the Evening Standard Stories Festival this weekend. The lyrical verse has been thoughtfully inspired by Bushmills’ rich heritage, steeped in stories and craft. It aims to celebrate the importance of storytelling to help us all reconnect and encourage others to share a tale while enjoying a glass of award-winning, handcrafted single malt whiskey.

The Power of Poetry will see three poets give their all in an evening of exciting and compelling stand-up. Performance poet and songwriter Sophia Thakur author of 'Somebody Give This Pen a Heart' joins Latinx bilingual poet Leo Boix and prize winning poet Kayo Chingonyi. Boix’s debut collection of poems 'Ballad of a Happy Immigrant' was published this year as was Chingonyi’s 'A Blood Condition'. Together the three present their moving and thoughtful words on culture, home, memories, loving and belonging.

There will also be a Bushmills 10 Year Old whiskey tasting, a first ever screening of George the Poet’s new poem, Singular Tales.
