This Hallowe’en, dare to step into the Box for a frightful tale of identity, isolation and ghosts.

Channelling the sinister and tumultuous soul of Victorian Gothic, Spirit Box follows the highly sensitive and recently bereaved Master Redlaw on his return to the family home. Plagued by shadows and strangely behaving birds, he reaches out to the online world of self-professed Soul Searcher, medium and paranormal investigator, Dara Faulks.

Conflicting motives for contacting the spirit realm lead to possessions, doppelgängers and spectral visitations, with the two characters finding themselves drawn towards a mysterious box — one that promises to unlock the key to Redlaw’s troubled past, and crack open the very foundations upon which their story unfolds.

Spirit Box opens up a space to confront what it means for someone to get trapped in a box — be that a room, a screen or a state of mind — unpacking the many different ways that storytelling brings us together and sets us free in a world where we can all find ourselves stuck inside a little too much.
