Old Street Brewery: Taste the grub of the future

Description of the event
Come and discover the world of edible insects, meet others in the community and Yum Bug's founders Leo and Aaron. By joining us at Old Street Brewery you’ll get to try innovative new edible insect dishes and products such as delicious Tacos and Mole!

But Why Insects?
- Incredibly sustainable (crickets require 1800x less GHG to produce than Beef)
- Packed with protein (up to 70%, with all the amino acids)
- Delicious (eaten by 80% of the worlds countries, 2 billion people!)
- Nutritious (They have more calcium than milk, more Iron than spinach, More potassium than bananas, the list goes on!)

What's on the menu?
For the adventurous - Mole and tacos made using the whole crickets!
For the curious - Tacos, burritos and much more, made using cricket based meat-alternative strips - they look exactly like beef!

Business background
We are huge foodies but hated seeing the environmental destruction caused by the food system. That's why we created Yum Bug!
We want to raise awareness about the impact of the food industry on the environment, and encourage people to try more sustainable sources of protein, like insects, while having some fun along the way!
Starting from shooting insect recipe videos in Leo’s parents' garage to launching insect meat-alternatives - we can’t wait to change the world with you, one bug at a time. 🐛🌍
