The Hanover Band performs 9 Symphonies, in 9 Livery Halls, played over 9 months – across the City of London.
2022 marks the 225th anniversary of the birth of Franz Schubert. Clearly many orchestras and ensembles will be celebrating Schubert’s music all over the world, let alone in London, in 2022. But this series will be quite different. The period approach to performance taken by the Hanover Band will bring to life Schubert’s music in beautiful and historic surroundings, presenting a genuine opportunity for rich cultural discovery and connection.
This performance setting has been chosen because of the Halls’ size and similarity to venues Schubert would have expected his music to be played in, with more intimate audiences, rather than the vast concert halls of today.
Please do bring your children, it is a wonderful opportunity for them to attend a short concert and visit the Hall.
