This 30-hour course is aimed at people who want an introduction to teaching languages to adults. The course has been designed by experienced professionals with extensive teaching experience and teacher training experience. The trainers will ensure all sessions are lively, challenging, and directly relevant to teaching foreign language lessons in the classroom.

This course will focus on general (non-language specific) FL teaching. The course is very hands-on, and will have a strong practical focus. There will also be a clear approach to methodology which will underpin the practice.

You will be introduced to methods and approaches to language teaching, and learn techniques for creating an effective and dynamic language learning environment.

The course will give you:
- A clear overview of what is involved in Teaching a Foreign Language (FLT).
- The confidence to manage a class and the classroom environment.
- The ability to deliver great lessons time after time
- Ideas and tools to create and plan lessons.
- An understanding of how you can reflect on and evaluate your performance in the classroom.

Foreign Language Teacher Training - Practical Methodology Course - course programme:
- Instruction and practice in teaching vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar
- Instruction and practice in teaching the four basic language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
- An introduction to classroom management and giving instructions
- A foundation in language awareness and language analysis
- Instruction and practice in lesson planning
- Instruction and practice in error correction
- An introduction to the roles of the teacher and the learner
- How to use multi-media such as songs and DVDs in the classroom
- An introduction to cultural sensitivity in the FL classroom
- Professional development guidance and assistance finding employment in the field

To attend this Certificate course you will normally need:
- A good academic background
- A minimum age of 21 years

Assessment:
1. Self-evaluation and teaching journal
The candidate creates a teaching portfolio - an essential item for professional teachers.

2. E-learning Activities
The candidate must participate in e-learning discussions and forums throughout the course.

3. Observations
The candidate must attend at least three hours of observations of different language levels during the course.

4. Micro-teach sessions
The candidate must participate in three micro-teach stages of a FL lesson.

All candidates will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

All applicants need to complete the pre-course tasks before being accepted onto the course. Once accepted, all applicants need to pay for their course in advance of the start date.

Please note that 80% attendance is required, in order to get your certificate at the end of the course.
