Make Space Studios is a new and thriving community of artists, artisans and creative businesses in central London. Based trackside on the way into Waterloo station, Make Space have taken some abandoned and once derelict buildings and converted them into an inspirational creative space. The second of their twice yearly open studios is being held on the 5-8th of May and will be an exciting, eventful time for all. As many as 30 studios will be open, displaying the works of the painters, illustrators, fashion designers, ceramicists etc who create here. Additionally the Simulator Gallery and several rooms throughout the site will hold curated exhibitions and there will be video screenings, concerts and performance work scheduled throughout the weekend.

In addition, Make Space Studios has been receiving an exciting facelift. Along with the bright colour scheme of the majority of the buildings some of London’s best known and celebrated street artists have already begun using the building as their canvas. This weekend will be the first opportunity for the wider public to see these amazing and interesting works up close.

If this isn’t enough, just up the road the brand new Studio 180 will be opening its doors for the first time. Sister studio to Make Space, 180 is a converted Edwardian terrace that has been thoughtfully and beautifully modified to hold studios for full time artists. Studio 180 will be holding its private view on Friday 6th May and will continue to be open throughout the weekend showcasing the incredible work of Karla Hammer, silversmith and painter; Jamie Quantril, film maker; Lucy Parnell, Musician and Jen X, performance artist.
