Class of 58

BearFoot School of Performing Arts celebrates 25 years of creating with an epic original production charting the musical influences which have inspired and shaped the style of the school and the production company. 1958 saw the birth of some of BearFoots best loved musical stars; Michael Jackson, Kate Bush, Madonna and Prince to name but a few. The Class of '58 looks at the world they were born into with the race to space, civil rights and Elvis's new age of commercial stardom and journeys to where we were in 1986 when BearFoot was created, with the back drop of new romantics, yuppies and other over achievers set against the poignant destruction of our traditional industries. A two hundred strong cast provide some spectacular theatre and dance with carefully researched film and images of the time. BearFoot is a resident company at the Arts Centre and has rehearsed and performed here since its opening in 1988.
