Tickets are now on sale for one of summer’s must-see events, Glyndebourne live opera link-ups on the Science Museum’s giant cinema screen. Screenings will take place in the Science Museum’s cinema, one of the biggest screens in the UK, accompanied by 12,000 watts of digital surround sound. Come down and trade the Glyndebourne estate and opera house, for the state-of-the-art Science Museum. Enjoy the very best world class opera performances in style, with refreshments including, in true Glyndebourne fashion, a picnic hamper.

On 2nd August 2011 a live screening of Britten's The Turn of the Screw will be showing at the Science Museum.

Britten’s brilliantly scored, insidiously compelling adaptation of Henry James’s novella takes as its themes childish innocence and adult corruption, then twists and turns them to disturbing and ultimately devastating effect. Jonathan Kent’s eerily unsettling staging is conducted by Jakub Hrůša. The cast includes Giselle Allen as Miss Jessel, and Toby Spence as Peter Quint, while Miah Persson sings the part of the Governess. Sung in English with subtitles. This production is generously supported by Lindsay and Sarah Tomlinson.
