Michaël CHERET was born in 1974 in France. He studied saxophone at Paris Superior Conservatory with Francois JEANNEAU and with Adam Nussbaum, Richie Beirach, Johnny Griffin, Denis Chambers, Daniel Humair, Riccardo Del Fra, Kenny Wheeler ….

Today he’s an influent alto sax player in France, he also plays baritone and soprano sax , flute, composes , teaches , and is a YANAGISAWA Artist.

Today he leads his new octet, 4+4, around compositions and modern jazz, with a string quatuor !!
This new project is mixing all musical cultures such as poetic and sophisticated jazz, classical music, pop influences, and hard bop tradition.
The saxophone answers a string section really swinging and soloing.
