Capture Tower Hamlets

Help us make history and document the changing East End as London 2012 approaches.

THE BRIEF/
...Can you capture the essence of Tower Hamlets in a snapshot? We’re seeking new photographic images that document and record the contemporary borough. Think: Local people, lives, cultures, expressions, activities. The hidden, the everyday and the extraordinary. Think: Landscapes built and natural, seen and unseen, change, place, perspective.Who and what makes Tower Hamlets different? Think of your Tower Hamlets and show us what you see.

ENTERING THE COMPETITION/
- Deadline for entries is 6PM ON MONDAY 17TH OCTOBER 2011.
- See maps indicating the boundaries of Tower Hamlets.
- You may submit up to five images.
- Images must have been taken within the last five years.
- Images must be taken of locations within the borough of Tower Hamlets, and the location must be included with submission. Images representing locations outside the borough are not able to be considered. View maps of the borough boundaries here.
- You retain the copyright in your images but they may be used and published by Tower Hamlets Council for publicity and educational purposes.
- You must be over 18 to enter the competition. Please bear in mind that we would not be able to publish offensive or overly political photos.

Tower Hamlets Local History Museum & Archives is recording how Tower Hamlets residents feel about the changes brought about by the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Capture Tower Hamlets is part of Mapping the Change. A Heritage Lottery funded project, Mapping the Change is East London's significant contribution to the Cultural Olympiad. Working with different communities, we are developing collections created with a variety of methods. Mapping the Change is developed by Hackney Museum, delivered in partnership with Vestry House Museum and Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives.
