The Odissi dance is one of eight Indian classical dances, with a long history in the eastern state of Odissa, tracing back 2000 years. Akademi is proud to present two talented dancers from the Odissi Collective: Katie Ryan and Khavita Kaur Rendhawa. Katie has been dancing odissi since she was at primary school, and now performs and teaches throughout the UK. Alongside her intensive training in classical Indian dance, Khavita Kaur Rendhawa has a background in theatre and also performs as a Bollywood dancer.
