Combining a respect for the traditions of jazz with a fresh and collaborative approach to making music, Empirical embodies all that is good within the young and thriving UK jazz scene. Winners of the Best Jazz Act at the 2010 MOBO awards, the quintet will perform tunes from recent projects including the award winning album “Out ‘n’ In” - an homage to American musician and composer Eric Dolphy - as well as music from their upcoming album.

Trinity Laban is proud to announce an innovative partnership with Empirical for the 2011/12 academic year thanks to the generosity and support of the Golubovich Foundation. As the Golubovich Jazz Ensemble, Empirical will inform, create and perform with students from across Trinity Laban at events throughout the year.
