Premium Californian wine brand Redwood Creek has teamed up with Rat Race Adventure events for 2011 to celebrate a lifestyle that is hungry for new experiences and diverts from the beaten path.

Redwood Creek wines champion a passion for adventure and challenge, notions that are shared by Rat Racers from across the UK. From negotiating the busy streets of London by mountain bike to traversing vast Scottish lochs and navigating woodland trails, the Rat Race events are for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. In celebration of this shared sprit of adventure, Rat Racers’ and spectators will be able to toast their efforts with a great glass of Redwood Creek wine.

Sean Hails, Redwood Creek’s winemaker, takes inspiration for these wines from his explorations off the beaten path. Using fruit unique, out-of-the-way places found on his travels across California, he has woven his distinct style into every glass. From his passion for hiking, canoeing, fishing and diving, Sean draws on his adventures and the rugged environment of California to create wines that are characterised by rich, bold flavours of fruit and berries, and luscious, fresh aromas.

A glass of great wine is a fitting reward for your pursuits, whether it is one of the Rat Race’s gruelling challenges or the unsung support given by friends and family. Redwood Creek is offering all four wines in their portfolio – Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon – to sample and purchase at twelve Rat Race events across the UK during 2011.

In addition to sampling and selling the wine, at the five Green Belters and London Urban Adventure, Redwood Creek is pairing each of its wines to some more unusual foods available at the events, such as pheasant with Pinot Noir and Venison with Merlot - certainly not your average post-race meal!
