University College School Art department will present the week long inaugural exhibition ‘The Exit Strategy’ from the 27th September at the prestigious Music Room in Mayfair. The only public exhibition of its kind, ‘The Exit Strategy’ showcases works of art from children at the University College School, giving them an established platform that demands the same critical eye as other contemporary art practitioners, irrelevant of their age. All money raised from the exhibition will also go to the charity Kids Company.

“Our aim is to demonstrate that the work of young artists can be as innovative, relevant and technically accomplished as the work currently seen at the forefront of contemporary art practice,” said Alastair Gray, Head of Art, UCS.

Taking place in the middle of Mayfair’s vibrant art scene, the work on display will include video works, sculpture, painting and installation all produced by artists under the age of 18. The artists of The Exit Strategy have created a sophisticated and compelling series of works that show exceptional technical ability and articulation far beyond their years. At a time of uncertainty and insecurity these young artists express their hopes and fears giving the audience a unique insight to their world at the beginning of their creative development.

The exhibition is free to enter although charitable donations will be gratefully received. All money raised by the event will go to the charity Kids Company.
