Drawing from their work in Granta 117: Horror, two powerful writers explore the meaning and metaphors of blood. The contemporary American poet and memoirist Mark Doty discusses the unexpected relationship between Bram Stoker and Walt Whitman. British novelists and journalist Will Self recounts the horror of blood-letting.

The latest issue of Granta magazine, one of Britain’s premiere literary quarterlies, explores real and imagined horrors through memoir, fiction, reportage and poetry. It includes new writing from authors such as Stephen King, Paul Auster, Don Delillo and Sarah Hall.
