Blackbirds

Imagine living through the years 1940-41. Over the past 18 months, London Bubble Theatre Company have done just that – researching the history and interviewing elders from South London who were children during the wartime bombing of London. Their stories have been transcribed and dramatised.

BLACKBIRDS is the drama that has emerged from this process. The show involves personal testimonies, physical theatre and the combined skills of a large cast of Londoners to evoke the stories and the sounds of the Blitz. The November performance at The Pumphouse coincides with Remembrance Day.
