A feisty and fiery end to the week MC'd by Stephanie Turner and featuring Jessie D among many others.

Rounding off our Poets In The Pit week, a fiesty and fiery night of poets and spoken words artists. Watch this space for further announcements of confirmed performers...

MC - Stephanie (aka Sonority) Turner is a London-based Poet and Singer. A member of Rukus Experimental Choir, Keats House Poets, the Roundhouse Poetry Collective and Barbican Young Poets.

Jessie Durrant is an new up and coming poet from Cambridge who has been performing since February 2011. She has already won various slams such as the Cambridge Hammer and Tongue final and the Speakeasy final in Peterborough.

Her passion for poetry started at a young age and by the time she was 15 she knew half of Shakespeare's sonnets by heart and spent all her spare time writing. But it was a serious longboarding accident in 2010 that prompted her to want to take her poetry to the stage.

Since her very first open mic in February 2011 she has been performing at festivals and events all over the country, such as BoomTown Fair, Shambala Festival, Soho Theatre and recently she made it to the semi-finals of the Hammer and Tongue national finals in London (March 2012). Now she is ready for her debut at The Cockpit.

With powerful and emotional lyrics performed with passion, this fierce and fiery young poet it not to be missed.
