Kick up your heels and sashay on down to Duke of York Square for a breathtaking evening of dance and film as Big Dance 2012 comes to town. Founded in 2006, Big Dance is one of the globes’ biggest campaigns to get the world up and on its feet, regardless of age or ability. This is no different, featuring an open-air film screening and exclusive chance to learn how to dance with the professionals.
As the West London Hub of Big Dance, English National Ballet is celebrating Big Dance in true British style by holding a series of workshops and performances in a number of dance genres including ballroom, tap and ballet. Each routine is inspired by the glamour of Hollywood, the music of George Gershwin and the iconic partnership of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The dance programme features performances by all-American dance group ‘Tabor’, as well as extracts from English National Ballet’s legendary production of Strictly Gershwin. Dance workshops include learning the ballroom style with Benny Maslov and an insight into the latest West End sensation Top Hat with Theatre Workout™. Later on, as the sun sets over Duke of York Square, the 1937 film Shall We Dance? will be shown on an enormous outdoor cinema screen.

So challenge yourself to do something different this July - join in the Big Dance 2012 and learn from the best in the business at Duke of York Square.
