A Vintage Clothes Sale and Pub Jumble, with live music.

A hunting ground for lovers of the offbeat, Going for a Song takes place on the first Saturday of every month. Entry is free.

This well-established market caters to bargain browsers and rummagers of chic thrift. The emphasis is strongly on affordable clothes and quality vintage. Shoppers come to hunt out a new look, whether it’s a pair of shoes, jewellery, LPs, crockery, classic movie posters, paperbacks or funky bric-a-brac.

On 4th August, as part of Lewisham’s Super Saturday events, we showcase the performers who make each market so special. While our stalls do business, Going for a Song is mounting a Open Mic Pub Jam at 3pm. Amongst the scheduled sets, Marcus Barr and Michaela Bartoskova will perform, along with the sensational Martina Borrut, fresh from her appearances at The Jamboree and the Book Club (Shoreditch).

Regular sellers The Pirates will contribute (poetry and prose!) and the Open Mic will be available for any singers, bands and bards who happen along. Everyone with a voice or a guitar is welcome. Performers are rewarded with vintage gifts and/or free beer!

We are opposite New Cross station and less than ten minutes from London Bridge. The venue serves great-value lunches (hot and cold) prepared by a top-class Borough market chef and a range of ale!

Think mini music festival, clothes boutique, record shop and jumble.Toss in pub lunch and a pint. Saturday heaven!
