Matthew & Me with support from Simon Alexander

Following their appearance at Camden Crawl earlier this year, Totnes based Matthew & Me are set to return to London this summer with their “original blend of acoustic indie pop with liquid vocal harmonies” when they play Tamesis Dock on 23rd August.

The 5-piece band, who met in Devon at Dartington College of Arts, has already established a loyal and growing South West following, gigging regularly around the region, including at the Eden Project’s Eden Sessions and festivals such as Port Eliot, Boardmasters, and Dot to Dot Bristol.

The band’s choice of setting for their forthcoming gig at Tamesis Dock, follows on from their most recent sold out bespoke events which they curated and headlined in unique, evocative locations in the West Country including an Elizabethan glasshouse, and a country estate with backdrop of vineyards and the River Dart estuary. They hope to create another memorable evening on Tamesis, a converted 1930s Dutch barge moored between Lambeth and Vauxhall Bridge with views of the Houses of Parliament and London Eye.

The band, who released their self-titled EP earlier this year on their own label through Drift Records, have had their music described as “like an ethereal Prefab Sprout or Wild Beasts mating with Belle & Sebastian round Robin Guthrie’s place”. Their eagerly awaited debut album, being recorded at Sawmills Studio, with producers Tom Joyce and the legendary John Cornfield, is due to be released later this year.
