Cinesthetics: Adagio for Film is an installation of moving image art that explores the comparative language of two forms of expression, film and dance. It will comprise a varied selection of films, including work by Len Lye and Norman McLaren, that display or decode movement.

Taken from the noun 'kinesthesia' which is the sensory awareness of body parts as they move, and 'cine', from the family of words relating to cinema, the exhibition will be a celebration of the union of choreography and cinematography. Through a spectrum of translations and appropriations, Cinesthetics seeks to foster diverse perspectives on the inheritance of choreography within the kinetic aestheticism of the film medium.
