Come and join in with this event held to mark the start of the annual dolphin drives in Japan. London joins over 88 other cities around the world - please wear blue to show your support.
The Dolphin drives take place around the coast of the Wakayama Prefecture of Japan, including the notorious Taiji featured in the Oscar-winning documentary, ‘The Cove’.
Some dolphins are chosen by on-the-spot vets and animal trainers, and sold to marine parks and aquariums in Japan and around the world, spending the rest of their lives in captivity. Hundreds of others are killed for their meat.
Japan Dolphins Day (JDD) was founded by Ric O'Barry and Save Japan Dolphins (SJD) and is supported in London by Earthrace and other groups.
There are two other events taking place in the UK - in Poole, Dorset and in Edinburgh - find them on facebook.
