The 21st Century Light Space Modulator, an exciting new collaboration from Jason Bruges Studio and Havells-Sylvania, will make its debut on Thursday 18th October under Hungerford Bridge, Southbank Centre.
Fusing together invention and innovation with cultural influences from both East and West, the Modulator is an interactive installation set to transform the space beneath Hungerford Bridge. Paying homage to the dynamic theatrical light props created by Laszlo Moholy-Nagy at the Bauhaus in 1930, the spectacular results are a series of evolving urban light interventions that react instinctively to their location, choreographed by activity and motion from the surrounding environment.
To mark the launch of the Modulator, members of the public are invited to a free exclusive performance from the UK’s leading South Asian dance organisation, Akademi, taking place underneath Hungerford Bridge, Southbank Centre, from 6:15pm on Thursday 18th October.
The Modulator will run from th 18th of October until the 1st of November.
