Talk and drinks reception with Erik Jensen
Erik Jensen lived in Sarawak, Malaysia in the 1960s with the Iban Dyaks - the once infamous headhunters of Borneo.
During a period of rapid and extensive social chnge, Eric learnt their language and customs and worked alongside them as their traditional way of life became increasingly untenable. When some Iban rose up in protest, Jensen was asked to undertake a dvelopment project to help steer them towards a settled way of life. It proved a much tougher assignement than expected.
Join Erik as he describes the experience and what he learned during a recent visit to see how these communities have survived fifty years of change.
