Curiouser and Curiouser!

Jump down the rabbit hole and join Alice’s Adventure in Kingston this November.

Mayhem Kids Musical Theatre Company presents Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR at the Arthur Cotterell Theatre in Kingston-Upon-Thames for two days only on the 23rd and 24th November 2012.

Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR is a reworking of the 1951 film adapted by David Simpatico, with music adapted, arranged and additional music by Bryan Louiselle. Disney have succeeded in bringing Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel to life, and with Mayhem’s cast of 29 young performers aged 9-16, it is truly not one to be missed!

In this classic story, the audience follow Alice as she bravely jumps down the rabbit hole in pursuit of the elusive White Rabbit. Stuck in this fantasy wonderland, we, like Alice, meet a whole host of strange and quirky characters – the Dodo Bird, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Dum, the Caterpillar – celebrate our Unbirthday with the bonkers Mad Hatter, and wind up in a lot of trouble in the court of the Queen of Hearts. Fast paced, constantly moving and somewhat confusing, this world of adventure gets ‘curiouser and curiouser’.

Packed with Lewis Carroll’s original and larger than life characters and Disney musical gems such as ‘How Do You Do’, ‘A Very Merry Unbirthday’, ‘Painting the Roses Red’ and including ‘Zip A Dee Doo Dah’ sung by a rapping caterpillar,
Alice in Wonderland JR looks set to be a fantastical ride from the first note. Director Katy Jackson says ‘This Disney musical cannot fail to disappoint. An adventure for both the young and the young at heart, with a cast who are truly wonderful. The audience cannot fail to be swept along with its madness. A tidal wave from start to finish.’

As Alice says: ‘If you don’t explore you’ll never discover’, so join Mayhem on this family friendly adventure you won’t forget - but whatever happens, try not to lose your head!
