The Big Bang is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for young people in the UK. Everything we do is aimed at showing young people (primarily aged 7-19) just how many exciting and rewarding opportunities there are out there for them with the right experience and qualifications.

The Big Bang Fair is full of interactive stands, activities, workshops and shows. What you see below is just a small flavour of what will be on site in March 2013. A small number of these – specifically the theatre show and workshops – require that you book individual slots as well as general entry to The Fair.

All Terrain Vehicle Challenge
Can you design and build a small vehicle that will be able to make it across our hazardous rough terrain table-top test track?
As part of a small team you can work together to complete the course in the fastest time possible, without dropping the vehicle's cargo. You only have three attempts!

Amoeba to Zebra
Music and science come together for the first time in a spectacular multimedia rock show. Designed to inspire students to take an interest in biology and the environment and to elaborate on their studies through the medium of pop music, Amoeba to Zebra is a show that will educate and entertain in equal measure.

Brainiac Live
If you’ve ever wondered what the strangest thing your body could do… or how much helium you have to ignite to make a really loud bang… or what’s the best way to launch a bottle rocket inside a theatre, then this is the show for you!

Classroom Casualty
If you want to work in the health service but dont know what to do, come and meet the Classroom Medics who will let you use a range of medical equipment to discover amazing healthcare science careers.
You will be able to take fake blood from an arm using a real injection needle, record an ECG from your heart and see how old your lungs are!

Guinness World Records: Science Live!
Ever wanted to be a Guinness World Records Record Holder? Well, for the first time ever, Guinness World Records Science is launching an explosive live science show!

The 60 minute spectacular will show you the best and the wackiest officially amazing records and attempts from around the world.

As well as inviting the audience to participate in live record attempts, our cast will include Guinness World Records adjudicators to authenticate and award genuine records on the day should they be broken.

A combination of live science experiments and record attempts in an explosive new production... A live science show with a twist... An opportunity to become an Official Guinness World Records Record Holder!
