Fed up with mince pies and the Christmas crackers? Take a break from the same old traditional festivities by heading to the Ripley’s Alternative Christmas Festival in the heart of Piccadilly Circus.

The capital’s most bizarre attraction is playing host to a series of quirky Christmas events during December. Visitors to central London can enjoy some respite from the shopping and preparation and indulge in some festive fun with an unconventional edge including a mini Santa and a giant snow globe.

With merry performances from The London Vegetable Orchestra – the orchestra that plays instruments carved from fresh veg – and a DJ dubbed ‘Phat Santa’ who will be playing all the favourite festive tunes. There will also be a special appearance by real live reindeer.

Visitors can also take a memento from their crazy Christmas antics by posing for photographs with mini Santa – a four foot tall Santa Claus that sits on the knee of those telling him their Christmas wishes – or by climbing inside a giant snow globe for a take-home photo of the festive fun.
