England v Australia International Netball at Wembley Arena

In the New Year an old rivalry will spark into life once again as England welcome Australia for a three-match International Series. The action begins at the University of Bath and concludes at the NIA in Birmingham, sandwiched in between is a mouth-watering clash at Wembley Arena on Wednesday, January 23rd.

These two sides have met a couple of times in recent months with Australia coming out on top in the traditional format of the game before England gained revenge in the shortened Fast5 version on their way to making the tournament final in New Zealand. Those matches have set-up this Series perfectly as England look to build momentum in their preparation for the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and the World Championships a year later.

It will be a fantastic chance for our fans to see the finest from England challenge some of the greatest names in netball with the likes of Madison Browne, Catherine Cox, Natalie von Bertouch and Mo’onia Gerrard all named in the touring party and set to make the trip to delight the crowds.

The squad have played regularly in London and on our last visit to the O2 in 2011 we came incredibly close to upsetting New Zealand. On that occasion we received phenomenal support from a partisan home crowd and are hoping for the same at Wembley Arena in front of an expected capacity crowd as the enthusiastic, knowledgeable and boisterous fans from the capital flock to the match.
