Sirael is an emerging artist with a passion for original music steeped in the traditions of jazz and world music. Her ambition is to make music which stimulates on both an intellectual and an emotional level.

Influences, ranging from the raw, heart-rending outpourings of Nina Simone to the smooth, soulful music of Sade and Bebel Gilberto, with a splash of up-tempo Jazz and Funk from groups such as Incognito and 4Hero, are to be found at the core of her own personal musicianship.

And it is in front of an audience that she is most at ease, performing standards with a live band and original material with HipHop and Electronica artists. Her latest project, “Convergence” was written and produced with the late Jazz trumpeter, Abram Wilson - an exercise combining Jazz, Latin and Drum ‘n’ Bass genres and exploring the fusion of two different worlds: the New Orleans of Abram Wilson and the London-based Sirael. The highlight of this project was ‘Don’t X’plain’, an interpretation of the Billie Holiday classic, which appeared on Courtney Pine’s seminal crossover album ‘Another Story’.

While expert musicianship and strong songwriting are always important, her aim is to always speak from the heart, to touch and educate the listener through her music. Her music is about belief in self as the means to bring about change on a personal and a community level.

Under the mentorship of Oroh Angiama, Sirael has teamed up with the Orohcles. Having worked with some of the finest musicians in the UK and overseas, e.g. Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Tom Jones, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Oroh has found time to commit his expertise to establish a community of like-minded, emerging musicians with a passion for performing live music at the highest level. Steeped in the history and discipline of Jazz music, themembers perform original music taking the core elements of Jazz and fusing it with contemporary music incorporating Funk, World Music and Electronica.

Doors & Food served from 7pm. Performance from 8pm - 10:30pm. Admission: £5 Advance booking Recommended : 020 7916 0544. [email protected]
