Koruso! and Choir Under Fire Spring Concert

Twinned choirs say ‘Guten abend’ for joint concert in Walworth.

German and Southwark choirs invite public to join them for an evening of song.

Koruso! The Southwark Community Choir will be ‘United in Song’ with Choir Under Fire for a special joint concert at St Peter's Parish Church in Walworth on Saturday 16 th February at 7pm – and the audience will be invited to add their voice to the evening too.

Koruso! is the award-winning Southwark community choir with a mission to promote community cohesion. Choir Under Fire hail from the town of Langenhagen, Germany which has been twinned with Southwark since 1980. Together they will perform an ambitious and varying repertoire, from English Traditional tunes and American Jazz melodies to African Folk songs.

This is the latest international visit for Koruso! as they welcomed Cenestra Male Voice Choir from South Africa to their Summer Concert at St Peter’s Church in July 2012. The Southwark choir will also visit Germany to sing with Choir Under Fire in 2015.

Musical Director of Koruso! Andrew Tait said “We are delighted that Choir Under Fire will be singing with us at what promises to be a unique evening celebrating all that's best about the power of music to connect communities.”
