Colchis, the renowned Notting Hill-based Georgian restaurant, is delighted to announce that it will host a gourmet evening on Tuesday 5th February that will combine a sumptuous eight course feast with the first ever UK showcase of Georgia’s finest artisan wines, Gvino & Lagvini.

Having arrived in the UK barely a month ago, these wines, produced by the boutique organic wine producer Lagvinari, have already found their way onto the lists of several Michelin-starred restaurants.

Colchis’ special guest for the evening will be Lagvinari co-founder Isabelle Legeron. The only female French Master of Wine, she was recently named by Drinks Business as one of the 50 most influential females worldwide in the wine industry.

Isabelle fell in love with Georgia when filming her acclaimed documentary TV series That Crazy French Woman In…. It was her experiences there that led her to launch Lagvinari, together with business partner Eko Glonti. Isabelle will introduce the evening with a little background about the country, its hospitality and what makes Georgian wine so unique.

Guests will then enjoy an eight-course taster menu, spearheaded by suckling piglet with tkemali (sour plum sauce). Each dish will be paired with a different Georgian wine, including some from Lagvinari and others taken from Colchis’ own 150-strong bin.

Tickets for this unique event are priced at £75 per person, to include all wine and food. It is anticipated that this will be the first in a regular series.
