The Ben Kinsella Trust Knife Crime Awareness Exhibition is opening it’s doors to London residents for the first time in February half term. The exhibition which launched in September 2012 has up until this point only been accessible to school and youth groups. From the 18th-22nd February the Trust hope to welcome families and individuals who want to find out more about how they are tackling knife crime with their educational charity set-up following Ben’s murder in 2008.

Since it launched the exhibition which is based in Islington has been visited by over 1200 children and young people from surrounding boroughs who spend time learning about Ben’s story, the consequences of knife crime and how to stay safe. The open week has been made possible by a generous donation from Trust patrons, Ronnie and Sally Wood, who were recently married and wanted to support the work of the charity. The Trust Manager Abby Kegg said “We are extremely grateful to the Woods for their support and are looking forward to welcoming local residents in to see our exhibition, where they can find out how we are using Ben’s story to try and make a difference to the lives of families across London”.

If you are interested to see more then you can drop-in for a free, one hour tour that includes films about Ben, his family and others affected by knife crime, an actor who is in ‘prison’ and interactive games and cartoons for children.

Groups are welcome but must book in advance if more than 6 people. Please contact the Trust with any question or to book in a group - [email protected] or 0207 272 1968.
