Shiny Happy Nails

Love London

So the weather forecast predicts 25 degrees and blazing sunshine in London on Tuesday. I'll believe it when I see it, but if perchance it does actually happen, it's the ideal excuse to crack out the spring nail colours.

Now as I've said before, I love nail polish. At the last count I probably own close to 180 different shades (excessive, I know), but some of my favourites are the uber-affordable brands you can pick up on any high street.

Boots 17 always has a great selection of on-trend shades for just a few pounds, and the handy small bottles means you don't have oodles of spare polish leftover to dry up, as undoubtedly if you're anything like me you are highly unlikely to ever finish a bottle. The Lasting Fix Nail Polish remains chip free for 5 days, especially when teamed with a fab top coat (my current fave is Save The Nail's top coat, from the makers of Nails Inc. About £6.95 from Boots). Pictured is the shade Sherbert Lemon, a refreshing pastel yellow perfect for summer, but there is a wealth of fab shades at only £2.99 each.

I am big fan of Revlon for nail polishes, they always seem to have a great catalogue of colours and the polishes apply really well and dry quickly - important if, like me, you are massively impatient and paint your nails three times a week. The Top Speed Fast Dry Nail Polish in guava is delicious, a gorgeous, juicy shade of coral that looks amazing with a tan. (£6.49 from Boots and Superdrug)

Finally to a brand you can't actually buy on the high street, only online, but the colours are so great it deserves an honourable mention TOMA, available from www.madbeauty.com. The summer collection is a smorgasbord of vibrant shades worthy of any summer holiday. Pictured are Tutti Frutti, an azure blue, Pistachio cream, a very on-trend pale jade shade which is all over the high street at the moment (SO much of it in Zara) and Pink Panther, a violent highlighter/neon pink, a similar shade to which I rocked in Ibiza last summer. £7.25 each from Mad Beauty.
