TK Maxx's New Shoe Department

Love London

Shoe lovers rejoice. The Charing Cross branch of TK Maxx has recently opened a brand new shoe department, bigger, brighter, packed with amazing brands and all at up to 60% off. The old shoe department has moved into the basement and doubled in size, creating over 7,600 square feet of space housing over 5,500 shoes for men and women. And breathe.

With premium brands such as Dune and Carvela, plus the odd designer bargain (I spied some Hunter wellies for £40 and some Marc Jacobs stilettos!) the TK Maxx buyers shop the world all year round and deal directly with designers and brand owners to translate their amazing savings to the customer. Daily deliveries bring up to 10,000 new items in store each week, so this one might be worth adding to your radar for a weekly lunchtime visit!

I visited on the opening day a few weeks ago to check out the new department and snapped up a pair of coral suede wedges from Dune, originally £120 down to £40 - perfect footwear should the sun decide to shine again. Interestingly enough, I also enjoyed a Foot Reading, yes you read correctly. Much like a palm reading, having your feet read surprisingly tells you a lot of interesting things about yourself and your personality. The UK's leading Foot Reader, Jane Sheehan, qualified as a reflexologist in 1999 and first became interested in foot reading after a reflexology session had a profound impact on her. She now reads feet full time and has an international following, having appeared on TV shows including This Morning and Fox in the Morning in the USA. Intriguing stuff.
