What would you do if you were Mayor of London?

We Are London

This week we've decided to quiz you on what you’d do if you became the Mayor of London. What would you change, and who do you think is London’s biggest villain?

Here are our questions:

What would you make free?

What would you demolish?

The voice of the London Underground needs changing - who should do it?

Where would you completely overhaul?

Who is London’s biggest villain?

We posed these to a few of our favourite celebs. On things that should be free, DJ and club superstar Jodie Harsh said “I’d make theatre, cinema and Underground tickets for students free.” Actor James Buckley, best known as sex-mad Jay from The Inbetweeners, also thinks it should be travel. “The tube, as great as it is and as quick as it is, costs a fortune, you can’t get a seat, it’s really hot, and it’s a really uncomfortable way to travel.”

Jodie would also return Soho to its former glory. “Ditch the Prets and the Starbucks, bring back the locals and the real sense of independence. Even just ten years ago Soho felt different - it had so much character and a sense of freedom…Now the thrills are limited to a posh Cheddar baguette.

Mash-up turntablist DJ Yoda believes Stephen Fry should be the next voice of the tube, while British hip hop artist Rodney P has a few choice words to say about Boris Johnson. “There’s a few villains in London. I think Mayor Boris Johnson has to be kind of the top, he carries a lot of weight and a lot of power, and what he says, and does or doesn’t do, has a direct effect on the lives of people in the city that we all love so much.”

Now it’s over to you. What would you if you were in charge? Leave us a comment on the forum - what would you if you were the Mayor of London?
