Beer Gets Political for the US Presidential Election

Mr Beer Man

If you’re the judgmental type, then you can probably read a lot about a person from the beer that they drink. But can you tell their politics? Probably not is the answer to that because most of us can go from brand to brand, lager to ale and back again without giving a second thought as to whether what we’re drinking marks out the types of policies we admire and the types that we find more stinky than a dirty beer line. Clearly that’s just crazy. However, I have recently discovered one beer where to drink, is to commit to an ideology. Launched for the American Presidential election campaign, the ultra rare, ultra hip, Bernie Weisse, was brewed by the Zero Gravity Brewery to celebrate Vermont senator Bernie Sanders’s run at becoming the World’s Most Powerful Man.

Described by the Zero Gravity Brewery as “A slightly sour and forward-thinking ale.” It’s a Berliner beer, which means it’s a tart, sharp thirst quencher that’s about as refreshing as Sanders seems to have been for American politics.

Check out the excellent branding in the image above and keep fingers crossed for a London brewery to do something for the London Mayoral Election campaign. A Sadiq Saison might work. Strapline, ‘London Born and Raised - The Beer Done Good’.
