Outdoor Area

2 seperate rooms/bars (connected indoors)downstairs overlooks the canal, upstairs overlooks the market and has comfy couches. There are usually dj's in both bars/rooms playing some funky tunes at the weekends. It's not really a club as such but people dance. It's a good place to go with a bunch of friends to catch up with a few drinks but still have the option of a late night and boogie to some cool tunes (without splashing out on a club). There is also an outside area with picnic benches and heaters for colder days, also overlooking camden lock.
Venue serves cocktails and bar snacks/burgers etc.

Horrible place. Great staff, but management has an air of supremacy and arrogance. Doormen have issues and verbally abused my pregnant wife. Wush we had gone somewhere else....

I visisted Lock 17 at the weekend and what a lovely spot! Great little bar overlooking the lock where we watched the boats come and go.
My only issue with this place is the bar staff. This was a busy Saturday and although there were 3 people behind the bar only 1 was serving, therefore it took a very long time to get served. When I eventually did the barman was in such a rush he knocked my drink all down me. This was not followed as you would expect by a heartfelt apology and some tissues to clean myself up, but more of a grunt for an apology, followed by him thrusting a new drink at me. When I asked for tissues it seemed a real effort. With my order I asked and paid for a "pint" of Strongbow, however what I received was not a pint (it was a plastic cup, and no where near a pint), however the drink I ordered before I was given a full pint for the same price, and everyone else in the bar had a pint glass. When we queried this the bar man was again extremely rude and dismissive. We finished our drinks and left immediately.
Camden is a busy place with busy bars, and not only do I feel that this young man needs to adjust his attitude, but surely there should be more people behind the bar on a busy Saturday. I would expect a much better service for a bar like this. I am a local and am finding many bars are now becoming like this as they feel they are in a busy spot so they lose all concept of Customer Service.

Lock 17 is a great place to be, especially in the summer time. I went last Friday with a group of friends and we just chilled on the terrace for hours on end. The staff are friendly, the drinks are nice and the location is great.
The atmosphere in and around the bar is a laid back and relaxed one, its just a the ticket for lazy summer days!

Been going there once in a while and liked the place for its space and music -good DJ yesterday- however, the ladies toilets experience has been one of the most horrific I ever had.
Smell, bins overfilling, water/tissue all over the floor, seat broken, no hand soap, stupid/rude graffiti on the walls... pretty nasty picture!
Kitchen and toilets should be the cleanest places in a bar/restaurant... so would you really order any food there? I didn’t! But I made an official complaint to the bar manager and nothing happened...
This place should get a Hygiene/Health and Safety check!!!

This place is ace! Every last sunday of the month they have a mini festival here, from early afternoon till late, ranging from beatboxing to rock and punk, these events are not to miss. Really nice decor, spacious, with a back bar with a live dj, really good set up, always good fun and you'll hear some pretty sweet music too! Listen out for the Chalkwell Ladies, and Kefranski, both are definately worth a listen!
Have your say
