I often make time to go to this shop on my visits to London. They have a wide range of dress making and upholstery fabrics and the prices are really low and affordable. I’m only new to sewing and prefer to practice with nice affordable fabrics. I’m looking to make some simple curtains soon, they have lovely curtain patterns. I highly recommend this shop. The only down side is that it’s cash only, so make sure you have some cash before going in. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I recently visited the shop (having not been in a while), as soon as I walked in it reminded me of what good service should be all about. I wnadered around this Aladdin's cave freely, nobody 'followed' me round or made me feel like I needed to make a decision; I eventually asked for help, and Danielle and I started chatting, and I told her I'd been coming for years, and hadn't been for a while. We chatted and caught up all the while she was cutting my fabric and giving out her gems of wisdom on the do's and don'ts of curtain-making.
There is something very special about this shop, that when you step in you know all is well with the world; they haven't changed their charm and character despite all the changes around them and I hope they hang onto that, it's their greatest asset.
When I was trying to find their number I found them in 'allinlondon', and read the review; I'd just like to say they are even better than John Lewis, because they have that personal charm that you can only find in a family run independant shop.
I came away feeling I'd done a lot more than get the blackout lining I'd gone in for! I challenge anybody to go there and come away empty handed! I bought fabric for a throw too (which wasn't on my list!).
It's like visiting an old friend.

Back in the 60s as a young girl was when I first visited this shop with my mother who use to buy fabrics and handmade her own clothes and that of her friends because she did not have sewing machine. She also use to buy other household items such as pillow cases etc and amongst her friends this shop was known as 'mama s'enfants' meaning mother of infants.
This shop was so called because of the fantastic value for money customers received which was a blessing for those mothers maintaining their family whilst living on tight a budgets.
I have continued to shop there throughout the years for my own family needs and have always found Daniella to be very pleasant and will always do her best to accommodate your requirements whenever and however she can. Jack also is very pleasant and is the rest of their staff.
They provide the quality products you would expect from John Lewis but their service is stamped with their own personal style of friendliness and eagerness to help.
