A wonderful place to shop and served by the most helpful, patient and nicest people that you could ever wish to meet.
I couldn't guess the number of times I have purchased items from there, but it has always been well worth while.
As the electronics industry moved on, spares were getting extremely difficult to obtain.
A difficulty that lead to Direct Electronics inevitable closure.
A sad day for many, many people.

I used this shop from the early 70s and along with many people found it to be second to none.
Being in my late teenage years, Barry and I would talk on occasion about electronics and family, he was such a nice person and taught me a few things.
I got to know Barry very well and he eventually became a business consultant (his own business) and Steve bought and ran the shop.
Un fortunately Steve died, I'm not sure what of, but he will be sorely missed.

I used 'Direct Electronics' for a good number of years. During that time, I always found Barry and Steve to be the most helpful, caring, courteous and pleasant of human beings that you could ever wish to meet.
Such a shame that not all of their customers were the same.
Moving along with the times and the progress (Or not) of 'digital' I guess that 'Direct Electronics' had to eventually succumb to its finale.
So, looking back, I will always have fond memories of 'Direct' and the decent people that ran it.

Barry and Steve are the best. Steve is now running the shop single handed and he is one of the most helpful and direct people you likely to meet. 10/10 Excellent. Why go to Maplins or RS when you can get all you need at Direct electronics. Served me for over 25 years. SIMPLY THE BEST

Fantastic shop!!! I went there first, before any of the chains. Unfortunately, the shop passed away. I've seen flowers outside Direct Electronics today, (23/03/2013).
I can't mention names, but to the shop owner, you will be missed.

Excellent service. Always polite, helpful and show keen interest. Theres been times, the larger stores cannot help. Direct Electronics are always at your service. Wish them the very best.
