Unprofessional staff. I went in to wax my bikini area and the staff burned my skin. I have been waxing for over 20 years now and this has never happenned to me before. It is hurting so badly. They should change the cheap waxing product they use and train their staff.

I had my nails done on 5 December 2015 and I was very disappointed. It was supposed to be a nailtiques manicure, which is a bit more than an ordinary shape and nail polish and I ended up me questioning whether the beautician had done cuticle removal before. Extremely upsetting also when she was painting the nails and left gaps avoiding to apply nail polish to the top end saving her to clean afterwards. I asked her politely if she could correct the gaps and pretended she was doing it with the second layer. I would never go back again.
Unprofessional service under a friendly smile.

Average facial. Very loud music in the room. Bright lights shining in your face. Painful extractions, left alone in the room alone for about 20 mins of the facial. Therapist breathing on your face - should wear a face mask surely? But pretty cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

I have been going to Essential beauty kensal rise for a good few years now and just love it. Not only is the interior very pretty, and the therapist are very experienced and clean, I think they have the most comfortable rooms I've ever experienced. Very clean and tidy smells very nice every time I go in.
The therapist are wonderful and really friendly, love the way they treat me when I'm in the salon.
The products they use at the salon are very gentle, and good for all skin types love all the products they use on me eg. Dermalogica and MD.
Definitely check them out.

I think the complaints online are all about an issue with a groupon offer which does not reflect the day-to-day of this place. I went there today for the first time and the lady who treated me was brilliant. I will be going back.

Another horror story about the facials. Treatment itself was alright (average, nothing special) but manager's attitude was ridiculous. It is hardly customers fault for taking advantage of a good deal. They could have contacted the people with vouchers outstanding when it became obvious that most of them wouldn't be able to get all 6 treatments they had paid for, instead they waited until customers tried unsuccessfully to book appointments and then became very defensive and tried to blame the customer for buying the deal! If Essential Beauty take anything away from this experience, it should be how NOT to speak to their customers.

Stupidly bought the 6 microdermabrasion sessions via groupon. The voucher was only valid for 6 months which should have been a warning to me. I couldn't book enough sessions as I had to wait 2 months between each session as they were over subscribed by other Groupon people. Alarmed that my next session would be a 2 month wait I asked whether I could pre-book my remaining appointments to avoid disappointment. They said it was against their policy so unsurprisingly I have only managed to cash in 3 out of the 6 sessions that I paid for. The girl getting the same treatment with Groupon before me was treated rudely when she pointed out that it was not her fault she could not fit all her sessions in before the expiry as they were so busy. They offered no apology and not a hint of sympathy - they'd probably got a lot of customers equally dissatisfied by the offer.
Meanwhile...the treatment itself was AMAZING - the therapist was really professional and skilled!
Unfortunately due to the feeling of being "conned" I will not be recommending this salon to friends or will be going there again.
I suggest that if they want to do a Groupon offer again, they should put a more realistic expiry date on the voucher or not over-subscribe themselves.

These complaints are because of a Groupon offer that we ran from Febuary to August. The offer had clear intstructions of when the it was valid from and to. We just got bombarded with a lots of bargain hunters that kept threating us with all sorts if we didnt fit them in, we did fit most in, but alot of the clients were very restictive to evening and weekends so we could not do them, which was not our fault but due to Groupon overbooking; our rules did say valid mon-thurs and sat, subject to availibilty we even started treating on the friday too. Groupon did offer them a refund so they should not put our salon down in this way just because they didn't get what they wanted ie the timings. If they are so restricted they shouldn't buy super deals like this; they bought 6 facials for 42 pounds only.

if the salon is not worth the money WHY did you buy the super deal? 6 (SIX) facials for 42 pounds, with a clear start date to a clear finish date! It was a super deal! You have decided to get nasty because you couldnt fit the treatments in! All super deals have restrictions, thats why you should always read the small print! If our salon did Facials at these prices all day long, we would have to close down, deals like this are put up to use dead time and offer clients a chance to try treatments they may not be able to have normally!

Terrible service from the manager, telling two customers he "didn't care" whether or not they could actually received treatments they had prepaid for by the expiry date.
Rushed treatment, overpriced and service that was average at best. Avoid at all costs!

me and a group of my friends bought these vouchers, we all managed to finish the course of treatments! the facial was amazing, it did improve my skin a great deal, i was concerned with shaving rash and the therapist advised me on how to shave, she gave me some sample of products that would help, which i did buy, i buy groupon offers all the time, as i am self employed i can be flexible
