Whilst the owner of the shop (Jason) is “abrupt” on occasions I believe people actually overlook this, because he’s a real funny chap.
Always excellent work produced, in my opinion he is one of, if not the best, shoe repairer in London. Never had an issue, and if by chance I have, he’s always rectified it. I think people forget that if they’re rude, him being rude back isn’t a negative - it’s actually very whitty. And working 7:45-6 in London, plus travel must be draining.

Most respect to this gent for what he does on a daily basis. Carry on doing what you’re doing, Jason. I’ll always come back.

Never experienced a more rude person in my life. Asked if I could get help fixing two pair of jeans and he commented on my English and was being awfully rude. Almost made me cry. Worst place I've ever been to.

I recently used them to dry clean my 2pc suit. When I got it back the trousers had 2 creases on it. The blazer had stains all over it. I've used them in the past and the owner is very rude to his customers. I had no other choice but to rectify the problem with another dry cleaner.

Avoid at all costs.
Response from Jason O'Donnell Proprietor
We contract our dry cleaning out and had you bought the items back to us we would have dealt with the compliant. It's unfortunate reviews are placed without us getting the opportunity to address the complaint. As for being rude, I have hundreds of happy customers and have done so for the last 20 years so maybe an off day but surely I can't be all that bad if people keep coming back 😉

Used these guys last night for key cutting - very reasonable price, quick service, and all 3 keys worked perfectly first time so absolutely no complaints from me. Have also bought shoe care products from here before and have never experienced any of the negative staff attitude that other people are reporting, I've always found them to be polite and professional.
Response from Jason Owner
Really nice to get positive feedback for once. People only tend to put reviews when they complain so it's nice you've taken the time out to place a positive one. Thank you

Just pre-empting my last customer who's heel "fell off" and threatened to write a bad review as was too late for work to listen tonthebreasoning behind the heel falling off. Stiletto heel once again the culprit and the fixing pin was still attached to the shoe showing that the only possible way for detachment was to catch the heel in a gap/grate etc. The customer refused this was the case but would not listen to the facts in front of her, I would challenge the customer to attend any shoe repair and ask why that heel would fall off.

By far the best shoe repair shop I've come across. What a gem find this is. Took few mins to repair shoes that the other repair shop on main road could not do!!

Highly recommend them and will certainly use again.

Professional, quick, efficient, friendly service. Ask for jason who will look after you
Response from Jason O'Donnell proprietor
Thank you, it's very nice to receive positive feedback for a change. Most people will only write a review when they are dissatisfied so for a customer to take time out to issue a positive review is refreshing.
Once again thanks so much

I had my brogues soled and heeled here 1 month ago..£55 to have the cheaper optionwhich meant they used a lower quality plastic composite heel and a wider grain leather sole. Thank god I went for the cheaper less durable option. before either component wore out the workmanahip fell to bits and they accept no responsibility. The sole came unglued and nailed and heel nails fell out.Avoid as they will not guarantee their work.
Response from Jason Proprietor
Further to earlier reply, we don't use plastic composite heels and our standard soles and heels are priced at £40.
Unfortunately I can't recall any complaint about our workmanship. Unfortunately pretty much only negative reviews are posted and we do repair over 100 pairs of shoes per week in this shop alone, again with many satisfied customers. We have just undergone an outside refit and are waiting on TFL to arrange a shop makeover. As stated I would welcome Mr Tower and indeed any customer to approach me with any issues, ideally this would happen before "reviews" are posted especially ones like this that question the quality of work.

Response from Jason O'Donnell Proprietor
I would kindly ask the customer to come into the shop and speak to myself. I can only fully comment once I've inspected the said shoes. With regard to the workmanship I hold very high standards and if the work has fallen below this I would like to address the situation. It is policy to deal with any complaint. I have not had any shoes that I have not guaranteed the work for come in while I have been in the shop. I have had no customer complaint for a great deal of time regarding shoes (certainly none in the last month) and certainly I have not been approached recently. Please come into the shop and bring the shoes in question and speak to me (Jason). If any workmanship is faulty I will rectify as a matter of course.
Please bring proof of payment of available and date work carried out.

They can improve by not being so rude. I bought an umbrella from these guys and when I opened it it was broken on one of the metal arms. I took it back and was accused of openning it into the wind, braking it myself, and taking it back for a replacement when actually the product was faulty. I was given a new umbrella but called a lier, when I mentioned this I got no repsonse and was sent on my way.
I won't use them again, I pass them everyday to work and often need shows repaired or keys cut and still refuse to go in. I don't want to give my money to somebody who wrongly accuses me of lying

The Umbrella in question was a budget Umbrella clearly signed that they are not windproof and no refund will be given for wind damaged umbrellas. Every Umbrella is opened before we put it out for sale, even the budget types. We pretty much always replace the brollies even when they are wind damaged but this depends on the customers attitude when they come in. We are more than amiable but if a customer comes in being rude themselves then I'm afraid they will be treated the same.

I too used this place to fit a sole on my new Loak shoes. As the other 10 star reviewer said, great service. They don't roll out the red carpet or anything, it's no nonsense shoe repair. I dropped mine in at 1pm, picked them up the same day at 3pm. All decently done, and lasting well.

I don't normally review places but I had previously seen a very negative review and decided to go with Scotts anyway figuring many more people must have used their services and been satisfied with the results. I'm glad I did, they are conveniently located in Old street station on my way to work and were professional and courteous. My boots look good as new and were ready within 24hrs. It cost £15 which some people may consider expensive but the heels were incredibly worn down before I sought cobbling services and now they have a new lease of life. Scotts built the heel back up with leather and then added a rubber layer to the heel. It's a small price to pay to extend the wear of boots with an already long inning... In comparison with the £110 price tag a good pair like them cost new it's well worth it. Thanks Scotts!

Avoid at all costs! I brought a pair of shoes in for repair where the bottoms were worn down but functional, along with a spare set of heels. Most places charge less if you bring in the spares, but no adjustment in price here. When I got them back, I took the shoes to an important meeting, waiting to change until I got inside because I was afraid of scuffing them. Within 10 minutes of my first wear, the repair had come out altogether, leaving the metal part exposed and the heel itself damaged. The heel is in worse condition than before I went in.

I thought they would be happy to repair their shoddy work. However, contrary to the proprietor's existing defensive assertions to the poor key cutting reviewer, you don't have to be a coward to be scared of their surly staff. They tried to blame the shoe, and me (as if I have a great motivation to lie about a £7 repair), and showed absolutely no pride in their work, the establishment or repeat business. There are handmade signs all over the dirty walls informing customers of all the things they won't be liable for - these have clearly been made necessary by the disappointed people thinking their keys would be cut, clothes would be cleaned, and shoes would be repaired with a basic level of ability and responsibility. I'm sure the proprietor will respond as nastily to me as he did to the previous poster, but beware, this place is overpriced, rude, and does very poor repairs.
Response from Jason O'Donnell proprietor
Pretty sure I remember this one. A pair of virtually new Burberry shoes, That had needed reheeling twice already and as stated the customer supplied the heels that came with the shoes from Burberry. So yes I did advise to go back to Burberry because if theyre own heels do not stay attatched then surely the issue lies with Burnerry.. With regard to pricing we receive a monthly trade wide newsletter advising high and low national prices and the average is applied to our shops. To be expected to do exactly the same work to a pair of shoes when the supply cost is minimal ( about 10 p for a pair of stillettos ) is clearly not economical. As for the HAND WRITTEN signs on dirty walls!! there are no hand written signs and only 2 disclaimers, 1 being with regard to stiletto heels and the other with regard to work left with us for a prolonged period, Yes because of the nature of our work the walls do get dusty but they are cleaned regularly, unfortunately it is not possible to work in a sterile environment. I will not reply to the professional accusations. We are a functoning Quality shoe repairs with years of happy satisfied customers and years of experience. The stilletto heel fits into a tube to attatch it to the heel so the pin from the heel needs to be slightly thicker than the tube to allow it to grip, If we supply the heel and the whole thing falls out of course we would rectify the situation but the heels supplied by customers from the actual manufacturer of the shoes cannot be guaranteed. Would Ford Guarantee an engine you buy independantly and ask them to fit?

In response to the above, Key cutting is not an exact science and if we are provided with original keys to cut from in the first place we always guarantee them. We have hundreds of key customers each day and for one disgruntled customer to anonymously post negative views is rather cowardly and I would invite the customer to come in so we can correct any errors with the keys. Most if not all key cutters would attempt to rectify the problems before cutting new keys, and as an established family run shop of over 30 years (the last 14 of which, I have run) we must be doing something right. If any of our customers feel they have been unfairly treated they are more than welcome to speak to me personally. With regard to a cheap outfit I am sure most of you would agree a £12000.00 state of the art engraving facility, over 2000 keys in stock, same day and while you wait shoe repairs and same day dry cleaning is not exactly CHEAP.
Thank you

I have had keys cut at this place twice, both times none of the (pretty expensive) keys have worked. Last time having spent £20 on the key cutting I went back to the shop and they 'went over' the keys rather than giving me a refund...this did not work! Fundamentally these guys cannot cut keys, it is a cheap quality set up. DON"T GET YOUR KEYS CUT HERE! They have no respect for their customers.
