Perkins Dry Cleaners

Really a poor service. They are simply unable to keep to the promised time, either for picking up or for delivery. Otherwise their actual cleaning service no worse or better than the others. My advice is do not go to them if you want to have things picked up or delivered. If you are happy to deliver and pick up yourself and they are conveniently located for you, try them.

I've been using Perkins cleaners on Haverstock Hill for over 10 years and have done so because of their impeccable service. They are pleasant, welcoming and have always cleaned my clothes with care & professionalism. This includes delicate beaded silk dresses, vintage wool coats & my wedding dress! They have also been able to treat stains, rescuing my husband's best suit from my son's bloody nose. The only downside I have experienced, was a new coat lining took a week longer than expected, but when complete was expertly finished.

I find Perkins very friendly and the cleaning I've had done has been good. Their timekeeping isn't always wonderful, but they deliver (and pick up) for free and I am now a regular customer.

doesn't even deserve 1 star. Perkins ruined my clothing with their dry cleaning and told me Perkins would contact their insurance company. but first i had to pay for my ruined item. and Perkins would not pass along any details for their insurance company or head office, except to direct me to a website that does not exist for corporate contact information to file my claim for my clothing. never once apologised. obnoxious handling means i will never go back.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Perkins near Belsize Park tube (which is unrelated to other Perkins around London) damaged a wool coat I brought in for cleaning. Perkins over-cleaned the coat, damaging the fabric in spots and with a sleeve almost detached. Not only did the employee fail to apologise, but he proceeded to
- accuse me of bringing in the coat in that condition and failing to notice it
before,
- disparage my coat as old (and it is from winter 08/09 season),
- argue with me over the age of my coat (but finally stopped in the face of
objective evidence),
- claim Perkins had not cleaned it at all -- patently false,
- threaten to send the coat to a laboratory to prove the holes were there for a
long time and that the coat is old. I encouraged Perkins to send the coat to a
laboratory. These outrageous responses were a waste of time which would have
been better spent working with the customer in a decent manner to resolve the
situation.

The service is appalling. I am dismayed by the employee's attitude. I have never had any problems with any cleaners in London, and I will never use
these cleaners again.
