I made the mistake of buying football boots from soccer scene because it was cheaper. Staff are helpful when making the initial purchase. After-sales service leaves a lot to be desired. The Nike football boots I bought were defective, as confirmed by Nike. I returned to 'soccer scene' on the advice of Nike, as the retailer, by law is responsible for refund/replacement of defective goods. The General Manager seemed to take offence that we wanted to return the boots. He implied that we had somehow misused the boots, stating "this has never happened before" and "carbon fibre can't break". He said he would have to wait for a "Nike Investigator" to examine the boots and he refused to give any idea how long this might take. He said "It depends when he's in London next."
When asked for a head-office contact number or a customer service manager he stated that he was the highest manager in the company and refused to give any contact numbers. I asked for the contact details of the Chief Executive and he said that he IS the Chief Executive!
A different store manager raised his voice at us in front of other customers, trying to humiliate us, but only managed to cause a 'scene' (which is maybe why it's called soccer scene!) and it can't have looked good to other customers. In the end we left the store with the defective boots and no refund or exchange.
In future I would pay a bit more and shop elsewhere, where the customer service is better.
Sorry if it seems like a rant, but I am disgusted with this store and I would NEVER recommend anyone to shop at soccerscene.
