Safe areas To Live In London ???

Hi

Looking to move to London soon and was wondering which areas out of North East South West are most safe to live in? the north and west are said to be ok? can anyone reccommend

Thing is too, it's completely dependent on your budget. If money is no object, you can get some posh gated development in St John's Wood which you'd expect to be pretty safe, but if you're trying to live on a budget, things get a bit trickier... I do agree with Krunchie and Daisy, everywhere has crime, but it is also fair to say that some areas have higher crime rates than others .. have you seen this http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/boroughs/comparisons.php gives an overview of the stats by London Borough.

I like the north. Nice houses. A lot quieter and more surburban than the west for example. The west is great too but more expensive. In my opinion, the east is the roughest part - more rowdy because of its trendiness and little bars/pubs (etc) located in that area. At the end of the day, i guess it depends on your budget.

Yes, it really depends on budget.

You don't mention south east but Dulwich is good.

Safe, lovely environment with a wonderful park, good transport links and its largely unknown art gallery but it can be very expensive.

East Dulwich can be cheaper and is cool for a variety of cosmopolitan restaurants, boozers etc.

Both east and west Dulwich can be fun for celeb spotting too.
