Hello all,

have just come across this friendly forum and I have a question for you. I'd like to know of any well lit pubs or other venues a short walk from a tube station, not too noisy, good for meeting up with a group of friends in central London.

There's a group of us who know one another through a common interest and messageboard and we are starting to meet up. There's usually about 10 - 20 of us, but that might be more in future.

Last weekend we went to York and it was really hard to find a nice pub to go to, and we only know of ONE nice well lit pub in central London, with quiet music, near to tube. There must be more than that! Anyone know where?

Hi Mogwai, we're pretty flexible, really, we come from all over South - Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Wilts, Essex, Cambs, and some travel from oop North, so that's why we want somewhere fairly central, so once we land, noone has to travel far out of their way to meet up.

Hiya,

One that springs to mind is The Globe at Baker Street: www.allinlondon.co.uk/clubs_bars/venue-942.php

This might be good as it's really easy for you all to find; and Baker Street is a good station if you're travelling from all over the south.

It's an OK pub with a good atmosphere. It might not be particularly quiet but it's well lit and so easy to find. As you come out of the main entrance of Baker Street tube station is right opposite you on the other site of the Marylebone Road.

Have a good meet-up! :)

Will take a look next time I'm in Town and suggest it...One idea some of us are floating is to find a pub in London to have as a regular meeting place, so keep the ideas coming.

Hi there,

What about somewhere in Covent Garden, it's nice and central and the areas around the market are well lit.

The Porterhouse is a nice pub and popular as a meeting place. It's listed on All In London here:

Hope that helps,
