A very clean and friendly family run restaurant. Food delicious from a suprisingly large menu. Wine list and drink menu not large but covers every need. It reminds me of the family run restaurants that I remember from my youth in and around ' Little Italy' in Clerkenwell London. All four of us on the night would have no problem recommending Don Pietro and we will certainly be visiting again in the near future.

I have been to this restaurant several times and it has always been very busy, so you have to book. Food always been excellent especially the veal. Staff always give a warm welcome and it is a nice place to eat with Family or just has a couple, I have done both. Looking forward to my next visit. Really sad to see what other reviewers have put, I have been going there since 2001.

My family of 21 travelled from different areas of London ranging from Highgate to Kingston to this restaurant this evening and left feeling this was the worst experience any of us have ever had.

No sooner had dessert being served they stated that we had to leave the restaurant. While we were sorting out the bill there was a real push for us to hurry up and leave. The manager Peter Burnell, came over and demanded that we leave because he had another group of diners waiting. He became very offensive and rude. He didn't try to make sure we had a good evening, it was all about the money.

The food was average, (my fish lacked flavour). We will certainly not be going back to this place again and would not be making any recommendations. In fact we will all be telling everyone we know not to go there!
Response from Peter Burnell Proprietor
I feel a need to respond to this review as all the facts have not been given, The booking was made for 6.30pm - 7pm, and although three people arrived at 6.45pm the majority of the party did not arrive before 8pm, with some not arriving until nearly 8.30pm. This was a busy Saturday night, the table was re-booked for 9.30pm and the first customers were informed of this on their arrival. There was no apology made for the late arrival of the majority of the party. We stagger our large party bookings throughout the evening so that there is no pressure on the kitchen to get meals out on time, and customers are not left waiting for meals, but because of the staggered arrival of this party it caused a lot of disruption, not only to their meals, but to all of our other customers and staff. The 9.30pm party arrived promptly and on arrival had to be told there would be a delay for their table, we were obliged to give a complimentary drink to this party because they were still not seated at 10pm, as the table was still not vacated, even though the customers had finished their meals. I went to the table and asked if they had enjoyed the evening and meals,I was told that everything was good, I informed them that the next party had arrived and were waiting to be seated. One member of the party said she was not informed that the table had been re-booked and expected to keep the table from 6.30 to the end of the evening. I do not know of any restaurant that gives good quality and value for money, that only has one seating on a busy Saturday night. To achieve one sitting all evening we would have to charge much higher prices. We would normally give a party of this size two and a half - three hours and this is ample time if the party arrive on time.

One of the worst "Italian" restaurant I have ever been to. I had bruschetta and gnocchi, my husband had spaghetti napoli and his brother pizza ai 4 formaggi. All tasteless, especially the pasta and gnocchi. I am Italian and I know what those dishes should taste like...and I can tell you that they were nothing like what you eat in Italy. I left all my food in the plate, my husband too, and when I told the waiter that I was very disappointed he didn't look concerned at all and he didn't even offer any sort of compensation or an apology. The food took 1 hour and a half to arrive, even if the restaurant was quiet. Terrible food and bad customer service. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.
