Jaflong Restaurant

Fabulous food and great service. Very friendly staff. Food always perfectly cooked and hot. Love this place.

I've been a customer of Jaflong since it first opened many years ago and was the first Indian restaurant in Sth Harrow, to my knowledge. I even remember the kebab shop which used to be there before. However, I'm sorry to say that it just isn't a patch on what it used to be. I went there a couple of weeks ago and left disappointed. The decor has changed and is now bright and uncomfortable. The food was ok, nothing to shout about but not bad either. My friends thought the same. I only recognised two of the staff and didn't feel particularly warmly welcomed. They were quick to serve us and didn't stand still but didn't smile either. In fact we felt rushed at the end of the meal. In years gone by we would sit for ages and even get complimentary drinks at the end of the night. I wasn't happy that my change wasn't returned to me either. The new menu was full of spelling errors and two things I wanted weren't available. I'm not sure if it is under new management or not but it certainly didn't live up to it's previous standards. I'm sorry to say that I think I'll stick to take aways from now on as it wasn't the food that spoilt the night but the atmosphere.

Clean, frendly atmosphere with a varied menu and reasonably priced. Food is served hot and is seriously enjoyable.
This is my local and am always just popping in with some friends. A table is always found for me. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
