There is little to do in this north western area, however low property prices and being on the underground make it appealing to young families and those looking to purchase their first property. South Harrow is almost entirely residential and has a large Sri Lankan population - meaning there are Asian eateries in abundance – the main shopping precinct is a bus ride away in Harrow’s town centre. Housing consists of 1930s-style semi-detached properties and there is a steady arrival of modern developments, thanks to eager developers taking advantage of the hike in prices in inner London, which has forced many to look for homes in the suburbs.
