Prezzo

We have dined here on 5 or 6 occasions over a three year period and have always had wonderful food and lovely service. We are from the US and when in London alway make a point to eat here. On several occasions we have had large parties of guests and performers from the Magic Circle and they have handled that with ease (with advance notice).

I always recommend Prezzo's to friends who are in London, and they too have had lovely experiences with both food and service.

I note that one negative review stated that their party felt rushed when they arrived to eat at 10:55; small wonder.

We also ate here recently after an evening performance at the Magic Circle. We went with some misgivings having read the earlier reviews commenting about rushed and unfriendly service. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was certainly efficient, which suited us fine as we had to catch a tube back to the suburbs. The food was also fine. We had a perfectly nice two-course meal for two with a decent bottle of wine for 50 quid including a tip, which seems like good value to me.

Soon after we got our main course all of the Magic Circle performers plus various associates walked in. We joked with the waitress that she'd better watch out as they were magicians and would make all the cutlery disappear or bend, and she laughed and said "yeah, we know them, they come in every week" so that seemed like a good recommendation.

So by my reading the earlier reviewers were unfortunate, this seems like a good place to eat regardless of whether you're in a hurry or not.

We are a big family and, after attending the Magic Circle Christmas Show in the afternoon of 29 December 2009, we ate at the Prezzo in Euston Road. We only phoned to book at lunch time on the day. There were 24 of us and we arrived at the restaurant at half past five. It was crowded but a table was already set aside for us. We had the £10 three course special offer (we printed vouchers from the internet). Ordering was easy as we ticked boxes on the voucher form. The food was served hot and everyone was served at the same time (not easy with such a big party). The staff were friendly and helpful and a table vote showed that everyone had enjoyed their meal. The bill when presented showed 23 meals at £10 plus 1 meal at £5 for a 5 year old. (an optional 10% service charge was added, which in our case we thought was well deserved). We thanked the staff at the time and I promised to post a review to balance the adverse comments on the website. Well done Prezzo!

Just got back to hotel room at 11.55pm after arriving at this restaurant at 10.55pm(I've spent longer in macdonalds). We equired before dining about closing times & told last orders for food where at 11. With this in mind we imagined closing would be 12.30-1.00am. We ordered drinks and entrees with a waiter(very pleasant), immediately after this a chef/kitchen assistant came & advised us that we had to order everything including drinks and desserts there & then. He then hovered over us while we perused the menu & discouraged us when we asked about ordering an extra dish to share saying what we had ordered was plenty already. We where then baraged with dishes, mains arriving with starters & desserts arriving while mains where still being eaten! I was even made to have 2 Amatettis & Coke on the table with ice cubes melting in the second one. Absolutely ridiculous! They constantly kept hovering for empty plates & even brought us the bill with dessert at 11.30 and said, "can you pay this now please because we are closing". The food was nice(except the very bland and overpriced tiny bowl of gratin potatoes) but I like to savour & taste my food, but felt so hurried I didn't have chance to really enjoy it(and it was my birthday). I really wanted to relax and enjoy my cappacino(which was brought with the dessert) which was cold by the time I came to drink it, but felt obliged to leave as the staff had their coats on & stood staring across at us from the bar. £55 for 55 minutes & a very lack lustre dining experience. Nice food & décor let down by bad customer care.

the prezzo looks fine from the outside but dont go in the place is hotter than the food which is not well cooked the service felt intrusive i will never return

I have heard of fast food but at Prezzo the staff want to jet propel you out the door! Hate to critize overattentiveness, but don't wish to be interrupted every time a glass has been (almost) emptied or a knife and fork rested on the plate. If you arrive after 8 the likihood is that you are not rushing back to work/to get train/home and would like to chat and savour the meal. Food ok, chargrilled chicken tasted of old charcoal! And who wants their coffee to arrive before the wine is finished? Convenient to local hotels but not rushing back!

I went to Prezzo last night 23/02/2005 and I was very disappointed. The service was poor and the restaurant was freezing. I ordered a burger with chips for a reasonable price of £8.50. However, after a long wait, I sunk my teeth in the burger and it was red raw, I had to wait half an hour for another (how long does it take to cook a burger!). For my disappointing meal I had to ask for a discount and the only discount we received was a free coffee!! Disgusting
